Yet you now claim to have had the same problem with two different receivers and two different televisions, one of which was much newer. If true then the problem would have been with the receiver and not with the television and purhchasing a new television would not have been the solution to the problem. A conversion is going to happen either by your television or the receiver. Setting a DirecTV receiver to "Native" allows the televion to handle that itself. Forcing the receiver to a specific resolution puts teh receiver in that position. Using an X1 setting of 1080p with a quality1080p televion would be recommended. Selecting 1080p on the X1 just simplifies the process and, in my case, doesn't result in a resolution reset each day.
