I'm not talking about them pulling the ads... just giving the CABLE CUSTOMERS the CHOICE of watching or Fast-forwarding them! Do you know the internet videos that have ads attached that have the OPTION after roughly Halfway through to 'SKIP AD? THOSE are the ADS I usually WATCH.... The 'forced ads' are ignored or muted. It's about CHOICE vs Mandating for me.    You are right about that...and if you read the never-ending list of complaints from the Cable-Service providers... you might see that THEIR customers are about fed-up and some may be planning to 'put their money into other areas'. How much money are the Cable-providers willing to lose? I may just save a ton of money spent on TV cable and buy the DVDs for most of the shows when they come out. Most people like ME...use the On-Demand feature to catch up on programming they cannot watch LIVE due to schedule confilcts or vacations, etc... This usually involves the need to view several episodes in one sitting. The past On-Demand feature was perfect for this when DVR recording ither missed parts of the program or could not be used due to additional recording being done. Now this new restriction against Fast-Forwarding...required by Comcast OR the Networks has rendered the On-Demand feature practically useless and ultimately frustrating and unsatisfying to all involved!   Who is it in your 'marketing team' that believes that forcing people to watch TV adds by disabling Fast forwarding features during programs provided to Comcast Cable 'Video On-Demand' will make people even REMOTELY likely to buy the products or services they advertise !? People like me use On-Demand features to view multiple program segments they do not have TIME to watch live! This 'mandatory tactic' is more likely to cause me and those LIKE me to AVOID those products and services at ALL costs! Way to go 'geniuses of the marketing industry'! I am contacting any networks that demand this feature as a condition for supplying their programming to On-Demand and sending them an e-mail like this to let THEM know how I feel.
