About Tasc22

In September of this year I got an email from comcast that they were boosting my speed to 500/15 from 400/10. A few weeks later, my speed did go up to that next tier and I was getting 570/17 on speedtest. In the last couple weeks I noticed my speed went back down to previous tier (468/12) on speedtest. I called customer support, but they said everything looks correct on my account and they don't know why it isn't getting the advertised speeds.   My modem connection levels are very solid from what I can tell, and the speedtest pegs at those levels (469/12) with very little fluctuation, so it seems to me to be more of an account setting than a signal problem. My connection has been pretty rock solid for the last couple years, but recently (last couple months) I've started to see some fairly big packet loss spikes. At one point, there was an outage lasting a few hours and then everything was better again for awhile. A saw a number of trucks in the area over the next couple weeks, and my connection is back to having packet loss again. Looking at the modem diagnostics, I have a ton of uncorrrectables on the downstream (this is after resetting the modem, so these are just from past couple weeks) and the power levels are looking pretty high compared to where they used to be (used to be close to 0, and I have an attenuator on the line already). Upstream is still hanging in there, but the power levels have creeped higher there also.   Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!   ... View more
