I have an xfinity x1 set top box (serial M11347TE5065). I control it with the xr11 remote, often using the voice control feature, which i prefer. However, I have a person with dementia in the house, and she is challenged by the remote, so I want to purchase a 'Flipper' remote to simplify what she uses to interact with the TV. I understand that the Flipper uses IR to communicate, though, and the voice control feature needs to use RF. My question is, can RF remain active on the cable box receiver, while simultaneously allowing to activate IR so that either one could be used to control the cable box?
