Comcast does not offer "stand-alone" email service; it is only provided in conjunction with internet service. Prior to canceling your service, you should take action to notify all senders of your new email address. While your email account may remain active once your internet service is deactivated, there is no set amount of time that it will remain active and it may be shut off at any time. One should assume that it will be shut off when your service is shut off.

However, since you'll be going wireless, the ethernet speeds are irrelevant Just make sure you've got the proper N/G compatibilty in a price point you're comfortable with. Linksys is probably the most popular brand and they are very dependable.

Yep. If it's necessary, the DHCP server will supply it automatically. It's not something you need to worry about. Especially on a Mac.

You don't need to know it, just connect to your modem and start it up, thats it.
