Thread is a bit old, however a bit of diagnostic info if it helps. Have Blast internet. Have voice, internet, and TV. For many years phone was fine. Had a modem from Comcast that was smaller footprint and none of that wi-fi capabilities included.
Then get a letter, hey we are having faster internet. You need a new DOCSYS 3.1 modem and we can send you one free. So I get this behemouth modem with all this Wi-Fi SSID's messing up my home network. Anyway, shortly after installing the new modem the I can hear them but they can't hear me started. It also seems to be tied to an apparent eventual loss of internet access. First the voice goes partly, then the internet will eventually cut out. Yes pulling the plug, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging it back in works, but not really a solution.
I do have a Panasonic cordless phone set, however also tested a wired phone at the same time and when switching to the wired phone the other end still couldn't hear me. Was considering replacing the modem with a new one if Comcast will do that, but not sure if it will help.
