I have the new 4K X1 DVR box for my main viewing TV. But I have two other TV's that see limited use and I just rent the little set-top converter box. I am paying $152/year (including tax) for those two converters. Are similar units available for sale? What about the $40 iView box?

In the Tampa area Brighthouse has it's own first rate 24/7 weather/news channel plus a great web presence with the weather (Klystron 9). I wish Comcast would do that with larger local markets. I spend 3 months per year there the other 9 in the southeast Michigan (Detroit) area so I can compare the two.

I just got my X1 box so I could record more than 2 programs at a time. What I lost in the switch is making me wonder if it was worth it, and that has to do with favorites. On my old box, I could set my favorites list, then just surf through them, one click advancing me one favorite channel. Not any more. That sucks. And (off topic) no longer can I skip commercials one at a time with a skip forward button.
