I have a new Sony 4K set as well and did experience this issue with one of the Comcast 4K boxes. I've since went back to the old box and have not had the issue. I'm also using HDMI Port 2. I was also told to take the Comcast box out of power saver mode because the box needs to be on when the updates roll out overnight, if not you may experience freezing issues for when the updates do hit your box.

I kind of have the same issue with my new Sony 4K as well. My issue is the hoops games CBS and TBS and some other sports on different channels is that the frame rate seems to keep dropping or lagging. The motion blur could be due to the tv settings not set correctly. I'd play around with the motion settings and see if that helps pic quality.

Go to the settings/device settings/power preferences. You can turn it off there. Good Luck!

Had the same issue with the new 4K box , picture would freeze then the box would restart.
Happened several times a day during live tv, recorded shows, Netflix, whatever.
Tech came yesterday and said that if the box is in powersaver mode that could be causing the issue since the box is off during update rollouts. Don't know if that's the case for the boxes other than the new 4K ones but you could try turning off the powersaver mode and see if that works. If not i'd just go to local store and swap out the boxes.

They did not waive the shiiping fee and they are also charging me $40 for the tech to come out and see if he can fix the issues i've been having with the box since i installed it. Not the treatment i was looking for after being such a loyal customer.

I had to order mine online becuase none were available in my area.
Had to pay $15 for shipping though. Been a Comcast customer for 19 years you would have thought they'd waive the shipping fee.
You would think with the recent popualrity with 4K tv's they would have been prepared for the number of people wanting the 4K boxes. What good is the store if they don't have all the products available for us?

Picture froze again last night during live tv. No error message just picture freeze, when i go to use other functions on the remote other than the power button LED lights up red, After shutting eveything off with the remote the box automtically restarts after several minutes. Anyone else having simialr issue?

I've had the 4K box for a few days now and have been having intermittent issues with the picture freezing followed by the box restarting after a minute or two. Called Comcast and they sent a refresh and i've tried a few diffenret HDMI cables but had the issue happen again two times today. Want to try and troubleshoot all options before calling for a tech to come out, Any idea on what this could be?
