Thanks for the response - after 2 attempts with replacement older cable boxes with audio out jacks for my analog stereo receiver from the Xfinity store that failed to activate they sent a tech out and he connected yet a 3rd box which finally was functional so now I have my stereo connected to the cable box.

I had trouble with my Xfintiy DVR cable box and reluctantly took the box to my local store aa I knew I was in for a long wait and and of course waited in line for 56 minutes before my name was called. The agent said you will be getting our newest cable box. I was anxious to get out of the store and failed to make a visual exam of the box and it connections. When I got it home and hooked it up I discovered to my disappointment that it had no clock, and no audio out jacks as my precious one had. I was very happy with the previous box which allowed me to connect audio from the cable box out jacks to my older stereo in jacks. With that arrangement I was able to listen to the cable music channels without the tv being on and needlessly wasting energy and adding hours of running time to my TV. Now it appears that the Arris XGi v4-A box only works wirelessly with bluetooth equipment! At age 86 I have no desire or interest in Bluetooth and guess that I am no longer able to listen to music without wasting electricity on the TV set by connecting my TV's optical audio outlet to an analog converter so I can connect to the stereo receiver. I want my old cable box back!!!!
