I have a program on my computer called WiFi inspector. After scanning it says that the device is not configured properly. It has open ports facing the internet and currently has a needlessly large attack surface. I also tried 3 different apps on my iPhone which gave me the same information. Last night I engaged in an internet chat with the Xfinity agent. He assured me that all is okay then proceeded to try to get me to upgrade my sevice. He gave me a phone number to call for a security specialist. After almost a 40 minute wait on hold I talked to someone, and even though I gave him specific informtion of the port numbers that were vunerable, he could not help me and gave me the runaround to call the WiFi department who I had already talked to. I just added a VPN to my iPhone and iPad, and just guess I will use the ethernet cable for the laptop. Any suggestions?
