xfinity and direcTV

I am having issues with xfinity and direcTv. I have them in the same house currently and my brand new xfinity wifi is not working. I would pay for a tech but the whole coronavirus is not working.

Thank you.

Re: xfinity and direcTV

You don't have the direct and xfinity on the same coax do you?  They have to be on separate cables. I use to have directv and xfinity internet at the same time.  They were on separate splitters.

I do not have them in the same cable I think. I thought that comcast had dropped a line to us but at&t has been here since then. We tried it on other connections around the house to no avail. There is the one that at&t uses for their main tower but it is extremely hard to reach. Would that one make a difference?

Unless a tech was around for a professional install of your Xfinity Internet, it's very likely your house isn't properly wired for Comcast right now, which would be evidenced by the fact that no coaxial cable outlet in your house is working. A tech install would've also guaranteed that your internet would be working once set up.

I'm afraid a tech visit is your only real recourse at this time.

Thank you for answering. Is there any way to get a tech out here during this Covid 19 emergency?

Re: xfinity and direcTV

Look outside for a Comcast line, if it’s there you’ll have to figure out which cable outlet your modem is on and move it to the Comcast line. Sorry, all self installs aren’t the same, some are a little more complex

Re: xfinity and direcTV

Hello, Argo8!

With everyone spending so much time at home, we know how important it is to have a fast and reliable connection. Fortunately for more extreme cases where customers have no service at all, we do still schedule visits. They will be limited to your primary outlet only and if the tech can resolve the issue with outside work only (even if that means leaving some equipment at the doorstep for you to install inside), then they will. Please send me a PM with your first and last name as well as your service address so we can see what options are available in your area! 🙂
