upload packet loss

Despite sevaral calls to Comcast, we still have continuous, intermittent packet loss on uploads. This results in garbled voice communications and dropped calls. We have traced the issue to bad Comcast lines upstream. Comcast states that the lines are fine despite ping testing that clearly demonstrates  the problem of packet loss. Has anyone been able to find an alternative service provider with better maintained lines?

Evidently the demand for internet service is greater than the bandwidth being supplied by Comcast. More and more subscribers are being courted causing increasingly poor internet service during prime hours.

Unfortunately your choices are location dependent and likely limited. For example I have 20mps DSL from Centurylink or Comcast in my area. How did you determine your packet loss is primarily on upload? Just curious as I have been tracking mine and seems to be on download and upload.

The primary indicator was Skype. Incoming communications are clear and trouble free, even during peak times. External voice service is broken up, choppy and completely disconnects if packet loss is excessive. My employer ran a line check and determined the dropped packets occurred primarily between the Shoreview and Roseville drops. On weekends or evenings, there are no issues. It is impossible to communicate during normal business hours.
