activate modem dual band speed

I am renting my xfinity wi-fi modeum so it should have dual band speeds but I can't find how to set it up.  Contacting an xfinityu human support person is close to impossible.  any assistance is appreciated.

Use the myaccount app, and you’ll find that your 2 bands are most likely combined. Nothing to set up, unless you want your bands separate.

Thank you!  I just found an article that said if I have xFi pods I won't see the two networks listed separtly.  Do you have a reference or hints for optimizing pod locations?
