There was another question on this, but I couldn't reply.
Periodically, various network devices will lose their Internet connection while on WiFi. My wife and I have been sitting in bed and hers will lose connection, but mine will be working fine, or visversa.
I understand the "suggested solution" is to reboot the router. First, I have done that many times. Second, I have worked in IT for over 30 years and am experienced in many areas including networking, Internet, LAN/WAN security, servers, etc.
If you wait long enough, the device will gain access again. We do have our xFinity device down stairs, but have 3 pods upstairs with strong signal throughout the house.
I will just shut off WiFi on my phone, if I am using it to look something up rather than waiting. I will turn it back on after a bit.
Is this a known issue and if it is, is there a fix out there, other than rebooting the device.
I have tried a few things, but still can't nail it down. We are not coming anywhere close to saturating the network. Even my PC which is using a wired connection to the router loses internet every so often. Very frustrating, especially as I have to work from home. The grandkids don't mind as they take it as an excuse not to do school work now.
It would be nice if someone from Xfinity would let us know if this is an ongoing issue, or if our routers need firmware update, etc.
