Xbox360 unable to connect to new xb7 gateway

I just upgraded to the xb7 gateway from the xb6 where everything was working. Now I can’t get my wireless hp printer nor my xbox360 to connect by WiFi. I figured out the ps3 by changing the Primary and secondary DNS. However can’t figure out the xbox360 at all. Customer service was no help and just talked about port forwarding which have all the necessary ones open for years. I understand the xb7 don’t work quite well older devices. Anyone else figure anything out? The error msg on the Xbox just says can’t obtain up address. The xFi app says that it’s connected actually but obviously I’m not getting internet on the system itself. Thank you for any help

I'm having the same problem after switching to the xb7. I have not tried the ethernet option yet but wireless definitely didn't work. We used to have an older Xfinity modern + our own router and it worked well.

I have the new Xb7 and my devices, some of them are from 2011 and they work just fine, no issues, printer included, I don't have a Xbox etc,  but the new Xb7 combines the 2.4 and 5 gig WiFi bands, I read where some folks had to separate them for there device to work because their devices  will only connect to the 2.4 gig band

I got it to work by connecting my old Linksys E1200 router(I guess it can be any older router) to the XB7 gateway and use the WiFi from the old router. I tried splitting WiFi from the XB7 gateway to separately named 5ghz & 2 .4ghz and use the 2.4ghz for my XBOX 360 but it still could not connect. I tried disabled the 5ghz completely and only use the 2.4ghz and that's no help either.

Now I have two WiFi networks:

- "Network" with 5ghz signal from XB7 for new devices

- "Network-linksys" with the signal from Linksys E1200 for old devices like my XBOX 360.
