XB7 and xfi app wireless channel/mode management

Good afternoon,

I hope you are all well.  I have run into an notorious problem and I am really dumb or the option is simply not there for the XB7 as it was for the XB6. At this time the xfi app/site has taken over the management of my XB7 in many critical regards. The one that is extremely problematic is the wireless settings for the 2.4 and 5 ghz sections.

The device does a very poor job on its own of selecting the channels first, and second, there are some specific things I used to have the ability to control like setting to N only mode and AC only mode. The combination of factors in its defaults, plus the unknown hidden settings (I suspect then gui and UX of the website are not updated for the XB7 (wmm settngs etc.) are locked out. That is in the former two cases I am directed to the website which does not have the functionality and the latter is just hidden.

I would need to make changes as I have scanned the area etc., and do know what is the best config for the unit. Could someone help?

I also seem to be doing way worse than usual pegged at 325 Mbps when I have a gig plan.

Please advise.

As per a broader xFi experience those settings are being locked out across the board for all with xFi Gateways to allow xFi to better manage it. No way to revert that back. Though from my reading it seems your WiFi issue may be stemming from a potential firmware issue.

Though as far as I know you shouldn’t be able to see any settings with WMM/QOS as that is all already controlled by default
