XB7 Gateway

Just had an XB7 gateway installed today due to on going issues with the XB6.

My laptop (Asus) cannot see the network yet my work laptop and phone can see it and connect to it.  THe Asus laptop could see the XB6 when I had it. Called Asus and said it was a Comcast issue. Called Comcast and said it was an Asus issue.

Being an IT professional, I've tried all the tricks of the trade and still no dice not network shown on the Asus laptop. i've updated drivers and am at a complete loss as to what's going why some devices can see it while others (my Asus) cannot.

Help!

Hi - were you able to resolve this?  Exact same thing happening with my dad's Asus.

Upgraded from XB6 -> XB7 and all other Wi-Fi devices working fine except Asus - doesn't even see XB7 Wi-Fi network...

I got an XB7 today to replace the older Comcast modem.  After activation of the new modem all my devices (phones/pads/tvs/ethernet connected devices) could see my network ssid just fine except for 2 laptops - 1 an ACER and 1 an ASUS.  I went to support/downloads on INTEL.COM downloaded and installed the newest software for the AC 3158 wifi network card and now the PC can see my ssid.

Just curious, how were you able to convince them to send you a new XB7?  I have the XB6 and have also been having ongoing problems for a few months now that they can't resolve.

I didn't have to give a reason just requested the upgrade.

BTW updating the WiFi drivers through Intel (not Asus) fixed my issue. Thanks.

When I went and asked at a local Comcast store 2 weeks ago they told me you can only get the XB7 if you have gig speed or higher.  YMMV  From what I've been reading they are still working a lot of bugs out on this thing, so you may not want to rush into it anyway.  Even WiFi6 isn't working (what the heck?!)
