WiFi calling dropping out frequently
I've got an Xfinity dual band modem/router model TG02DCW3482P2CT and am experiencing WiFi calling dropouts on an intermittent basis.
Details:
Phone is in airplane mode (this shuts off cellular)
There are no pods or mesh network attached to my home wifi network
The dropouts occur whether the phone is one foot away from the modem or at the opposite end of the house from the modem
The dropouts occur on multiple iPhones
A couple of debugging patterns I detected:
1) WiFi calls were dropping between 3 and 9 minutes over six calls. I then power cycled the modem and the next call sustained for 65 minutes
2) One call dropped due to a Wifi calling dropout at precisely midnight (this does not seem like a coincidence to me)
The Comcast rep suggested I create separate networks for 2.4 and 5.0 (rather than leave them on the same network) and force the phones onto one network or the other. But I don't see a way to do that using the XFI app or using the equivalent web based version.

I would try to turn off airplane mode, on a IPhone it shuts off WiFi, tho you can manually enable it, if you want to turn off cellular data there is a option for that
When you enable airplane mode you disable your phone's ability to connect to cellular or WiFi networks or to Bluetooth. This means you can't make or receive calls, send texts, or browse the internet.
You can still use your phone, however: you can take photos, listen to music, play games, or compose emails/messages to send later. Basically anything that doesn't require a signal or internet.

I have since partitioned it into two networks - 2.4 and 5.0 - but the dropped wifi calls occur on both networks.

That's not the case with my phone.

I am having the same problem since I upgraded to xFi app. I also as Xfi pods to a number of rooms to boost the signal. The signal always tests fine. But calls drop after several minutes. l also cannot find a way to switch between 2.4 and 5 ghz. I am beginning to suspect that the xFi app may be the issue. There is definitely constant communication ongoing between the gateway and the devices even when not calling. I have noticed that there are times when the gateway is reporting incorrect info such the device is not connected when the wifi on the phone says it is.
