Wifi connectivity is affected by the distance between the wifi device and the source of the wifi signal. What is your distance?

There seems to be only general information here regarding wifi. The problem I have is with the "NEW" xfinity wifi. I have an Amazon firestick connected to a device that is about 15 feet from the Xifi router. My old router from Xfinity worked just fine. Once I upgraded to the "NEW" and faster router, the firestick started randomly dropping the connection. Can anyone give me answers as to what may the problem?
I have a fire stick and the Xb6 gateway and I find it works best on the 2.4 g WiFi band, I have no trouble with mine
