What is done during initial setup---already have my own equipment---

Signed up for self install.

Received coax cable via mail. Thank you Comcast!

Called in to Comcast to inform that the package was received. Comcast states to me that previous homeowner had not had service with them since 2008 therefore a tech would need to perform the install.

Despite informing Comcast that I had all items plugged in and connected I should be good to go, no? They stated that l would still require a visit... Fair enough but the rep via phone did not know what exactly that meant. A lot of "make sure everything works" sort of thing. Well.. Yeah. Clearly.

My question is What Exactly are the jobs performed with this visit ASIDE from connecting the router/modem to the coax-linking to the net-wired and wirelessly, etc?

thank youuuu!

If your online light on the modem is not solidly lit, you would need a tech out to reconnect the other end of your line to the live Comcast feed / coax tap on the pole..
