Upload speed from Arris SB6190, Is ~4-6 the best I can get for upload?

I bought the SB6190 based on the claimed speed(s) on the xfinity site.

Claimed ~900 speed (895)

I called support and they said I should be happy with the speed I am getting from the modem.

The website now gives conflicting information (above link says compatible) elsewhere it states I need to upgrade my equipment.

🤷🏻‍♀️My main current concern is upload speed I am getting 5-6 , I can live with the download speed seems stable around 600 but sometimes drops below 100 then goes back to fluctuating at times.

Can I really expect more upload from this modem?

I saw the following:

Xfinity customers with SB6190 modems please post following:

1) Xfinty internet service tier. I recently upgraded to 1gb

2) Connection speed test results from https://speedtest.xfinity.com/

Not sure why the log has info from 1970?

It’s not compatible, for gig service you need a docsis 3.1 model not a 3.0 and check your math. This modem is only rated for up to 895, which is less than 1000, so you were never going to hit the speeds (Upload or download) you’re paying for https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices/

Re: Upload speed from Arris SB6190, Is ~4-6 the best I can get for upload?

Thanks for the reply.

~ is estimate , My question was about the upload speed for DOCIS 3.0 for my modem , but I would take the Comcast DOCIS 3.0 specifications or the provisioned target for the equipment I have.

Also, if the best I can do for upload is 4-6 with any modem (DOCIS 3.1 then I don't want to invest in new hardware until the cable infrastructure in my area can actually support faster upload speeds).

BTW, they (Comcast)  state 800+ for this model and the manufacturer states 1gb+ .

Kind regards,

It doesn’t matter what the manufacturer specs are. It goes by what Comcast approves them for. Get the proper modem you should get proper speeds up and down
