Trying to Add Modem to Account, but Customer Support Won't Add
Okay, so I know that title is a bit vague, but here's the situation: so I signed up for Xfinity Internet for our new apartment, we're using our own router and modem. I bought the modem from a Walmart nearby, and it's very possible that it was refurbished or used and returned.
I tried calling customer support to get the modem added to my account so that I can finish the setup and get the internet properly activated in our place, but when telling the representative the modem information, she mentioned that that modem already is linked to another account, so she couldn't do anything. So I figured I'd try a hail mary and show proof of my Walmart receipt and the modem's HFC MAC to show that I legitimately have the modem in my possession, and that maybe a certified representative could fix this issue. Otherwise, I'd likely have to return this one and go buy another.

You might want to take it back for a refund or exchange at Walmart. They are pretty good about refunds/returns.
