Streaming from apps

Whether it's Netflix, or Met Opera on Demand, WiFi keeps cutting out - literally every few minutes we are disconnected and then automatically reconnected. Streaming doesn't stop for long, but stream is interrupted and it is SO annoying. Climax of Aida on Met on Demand literally was cutting out for a few seconds every minute or two. What gives? This is a fairly recent occurrence - past few months, I would say.
