Slow internet
I have a Motorola sbg6580 and I’m only getting 80 mb, and I should get at least 150. I’ve called comcast several times and they always insist on sending a tech. Well it turns out my buddy is a comcast tech and he wire my house not long ago, since my problem started he had check with his meter everywhere and there is not problem in my area, I know I the problem is not in my house neither on the tap, but they always insist to send a tech, also my girlfriend has the same problem with the same modem in a diff adress, so far I tried talking with customer service with no luck, none there seems to know what they are talking about. I’m about to cancel my service because this is ridiculous, they make sure I get the bill every months but when u call them to fix your issue is always the same, I frustrated with comcast cuts service

Is this with a WiFi connection ? If so, for a test, does a computer hardwired directly to the 6580 with an ethernet cable have the same problem ?

Hi there, Clodo. Thank you for posting here for support! We understand that problems of this nature can be very frustrating, especially after several attempts of trying to get it fixed. We want to help! If the problem takes place when hardwired directly from your computer to your modem over ethernet, then that does help us narrow down the potential contributing causes quite a bit. That specific symptom typically requires a technician to address a signal level issue at the premise, which is likely why that keeps getting suggested. Is there an additional device that we can try hardwiring to the modem to see if we get a different result?
