Second IP address

I have seen multiple threads on this topic and realize nothing has been made different to change the situation. No one at tech support or sales or anywhere I’ve talked to for that matter can seem to understand exactly what I need. I just want a second residential IP address and the representative on the phone just wants to run trouble shooting steps or tells me it’s not available or it should just be automatic. Please someone with some knowledge help me out. I have an arris sb8200 and would just like to use both Ethernet ports.

First, check the "Rate Card" for your local area to see if that feature is even available anymore. Seems that it is being phased out;

Scroll down to "Xfinity Internet" and look for "Additional IP Addresses".


If nothing is listed then it's likely to have been discontinued in your local market area.
