We purchased a new modem SB8200, and Arris says we will need a second IP address in order to make use of both ethernet ports on the modem. We spent many hours on the phone and live chat with xfinity customer service trying to make this happen yesterday. We got different messages from each person with whom we spoke. I've seen other posts with the same request, and it seems that there's a chance of getting some help if this post be escalated. Can anyone help with that?
They are phasing it out but I'm going to escalate your issue to the Comcast corporate employees that are available to these boards. We've seen cases here where they have been able to get this accomplished for customers even when it is not listed in their rate cards, YMMV. You should get a reply here in your topic. Good luck !
Quite welcome !
Hello @scholtenmonahan, thanks for reaching out to our Digital Care Team through our Forums page. We appreciate you being a customer with us and I'm sorry for any inconvenience or frustration caused yesterday. I would love to see if a second IP address option is offered/available in your market/area.
Can you please send me a Private Message including your first and last name as it appears on the account?
