SB8200 dual IP

Hi, I just got the SB8200 modem.
Using Huawei B315 CPE as router.
Currently on Performance Plus & planning to switch to Gigabit package once I manage to get a dedicated VPN, firewall and enterprise grade wireless AP.

Wish to have the the second port dedicated to AppleTV where I stream NBC Sports Gold, Hulu, Apple TV+, Hotstar, etc...

The router throughput 20-ish Mbps over WLAN while the hardwired AppleTV n PC gets 89Mbps, if both hardwired devices are up, WLAN fails.

On WLAN, I have;
4 iPhones
1 PS4
1 Printer
2 Laptops

Since the second IP will be paid for, will it be static or both from dynamic pool?

Assistance much appreciated!

First, check the "Rate Card" for your local area to see if that feature is even available anymore. Seems that it is being phased out;

https://www.xfinity.com/support/rate-card/

It's a PDF.

Scroll down to "Xfinity Internet" and look for "Additional IP Addresses".

If nothing is listed then it's likely to have been discontinued in your local market area.

Thanks, EG!

I forgot to mention that the rate card doesn’t show availability, however, few other threads stated that the issue needs to be escalated to corporate for programming second port.

And a new thread was to be created if second IP is desired.

They are phasing it out but I'm going to escalate your issue to the Comcast corporate employees that are available to these boards. We've seen cases here where they have been able to get this accomplished for customers even when it is not listed in their rate cards, YMMV. You should get a reply here in your topic. Good luck !

Thank you, EG!

I understand that availability will take priority based on what the customer is paying for, however, I would be going with the gig plan in future.

Lease finishes in November for the house I currently rent, so that’s about the time I may upgrade to the gig moving into the newer home, it’s definite!

Otherwise, it’ll be best in returning the SB8200 and continuing with SB6190 for the time being.
