Router on Main Floor: Terrible connection in basement

So basically got Xfinity WiFi recently. Before the router is located relatively in the same location as it was previously. But now whenever I do anything in the basement (video games included), I experience horrible internet connections (sometimes telling me there is no internet). Before this wouldn’t happen to me previously. Any solutions besides moving to the main floor?
