Reduced Upload Speed 1 Gigbit Internet when using own Modem CM1200 NetGear
When I have installed and activated my own modem (Netgear CM1200) upload speed has been greatly reduced and limited to around 6mbps. When I use Xfinity XFI getaway upload is back at usual around 40 Mbps. I still didn't return Xfinity XFI getaway in order to make sure I can isolate issue and troubleshoot. Download speeds are better with CM1200, wired or Wifi (using new Wifi 6 Orbi Mesh system) but Upload speed seems to be capped.

Can't see your pics. Since you are a new poster, they need to be approved by a Forum Admin. That could take some time. In the interim, you could try hosting them at one of those free third-party pic hosting sites like Imgur or Photobucket and post the link to them here.

I'm not looking for wired vs. WiFi with the router. I'm looking for a test directly to the cable modem. No router in the equation at all. Is that what was tried ?

Both same - 6mbps. Wired or Wifi same speed.
Only when I change to Xfinity's leased modem it immediately goes to 40mbps.
No Chance that CM1200 has worse upload compared to Xfinity Technicolor CGM4140COM
So it has to be cap put on during activation put by Xfinity .
Comcast used to be cool company

Everything is well within spec ! For a test, what upload speed do you get with a computer hardwired directly to the CM1200 cable modem (no Orbi in the mix) ? You'll need to power cycle the CM1200 when you make the change, and then again when you reinstall the Orbi.

O/k so maybe the modem is malfunctioning, it's a Comcast system issue, or it's a provisioning / speed configuration issue. Have you consulted with Customer service about this issue ?

Nah, modem just fine, transfered to WOW and problem is gone. Should have done this years ago, instead I was paying for speeds I never had, and non existing equipment and services... After over 10 years, glad I got rid of Xfinity for good.
