Reaching monthly bandwidth limit

We got a new TV and it has become our primary TV. We only use streaming and the last 2 months have exceeded our limit. If we get an additional cable box and use on this TV will this solve our problem. So the question is does a cable box bandwidth go against our monthly bandwidth?
