Re: second opinion for res
I got a Xb7 in regular mode not bridge mode, everything functions as expected, the ip for the Xb7 is 10.0.0.1, the dhcp range starts at 10.0.0.15, I do this to have room to add static ips that don't conflict with the dhcp server, I added a old router I had laying around by Ethernet cable, ok you have to access the old router via Ethernet cable from a computer, you set the static ip to 10.0.1.1 and set the dhcp range starting with 10.0.1.15 again leaving room for static Ips, ok will have access to WiFi and Ethernet on both gateway and the additional router, so obviously you will want different ssid names for them, also you want to have them operate on different channels so they don't overlap and conflict, now you connect the additional router from the wann port to a available port on your gateway, reboot everything and you should have 2 separate networks that don't communicate with each other, of course you have to be connected to the appropriate gateway or router to make changes, both have access to the internet thru 1 ip yet they don't communicate with each other, I use the old router section fior a guest account, it also works nice to put kids on so they expose the main section with viruses or whatever they get into, it's simple setup that's works well for my needs, hope this helps you out
