Sounds like we have very similar issues. My problems started on Saturday 11/9 out of the blue. Nothing had changed on my end at that time. No software or hardware changes. I did start to replace components that I had originally planned to replace. Ran new coax and a new splitter.


My power levels on my SB8200 are way out of spec, according to Arris.

 

CS on the phone could only reset my modem (this does not solve the issue, in fact after a reset factory or otherwise, the numbers all remain out of range) and scheduled a technician to come out to my house. I guess we'll see what happens Wednesday.

Please post the *Downstream Power Level*, the *Upstream Power Level*, and the *SNR* (Signal to Noise Ratio) numbers.

What is the exact model number of the Arris modem ?

Is this a WiFi connection ?

Update - 11/20/19

Tech just left my house. He needed to run a new line from the pole to the house. The old line was garbage! Also, it was full of water. Amazing that it last this long.

 

Anyhow I can now report my modem status power numbers are within acceptable range!

I did not see this was moved and ended up not seeing your question. It's a bit late now as the tech has left my house after running a new line. He ran a health check on my service prior to his arrival and already had seen the terrible signal levels.

 

I had power levels on my modem that ranged from -19 dBmV to -37 dBmV across 60% of my downstream bonded channels. This was obviously causing the havoc.

 

What I didn't know, that the tech showed me, was the line from the pole was absolute garbage. In fact, when he disconnected the line from the splitter to look at the connection, water poured out of the line.

 

I can report now that my downstream power is well within spec and my internet is working flawlessly. We'll see if it maintains (I have confidence it will) over the next 24 hours and I'll update if not.

If you are referring to this channel;

That's the DOCSIS 3.1 / OFDM downstream channel for the gigabit speed tier. It is a known issue that some makes and models of modem read the signal stats for that channel incorrectly. You can disregard those figures.
