Re: Internet drops several times a day - 100% packet loss, super long dns requests and ping response

I had this same issue for about a month. It took 10 calls and 5 Tech visits to finally convince Comcast that it was a line problem.  They replaced the line from the tap to my house 1st with no resolution. Finally they replaced the line down my road which fixed the problem.

Xfinity has not made a statement regarding the daily drops. Many of us can prove it with our modem event logs, so we all know it's happening. You are not alone.

That's awesome, happy for you.

Imagine how profitable of a business you could have if you literally sell something that is infinite as if it is finite and then place arbitrary caps on data usage and on top of it all, you have your customers identifying your issues for you.

Man, that's a heck of a profitable busines model. I guess that's how Comcast stays in business with so many unhappy customers.

This is exactly what's happening to me. So infuriating. I lived in an area with a fiber provider and had ZERO problems in 2 years. I didn't even know how to contact their customer service. This is clearly their lines.

Thank you fir this information. Years ago there was a problem in a relay box near my place. If the new modem I put in today doesn’t fix the problem, I will ask tech to check line and distribution box.
