Re: Internet connection keeps dropping
Currently there are 5 postings on the internet dropping on this forum. it would appear that comcast has some sort of issue given the number of reported issues. I have been having it all day long. I was told it is some sort of signal issue. that they are having. So unless someone from comcast support has a magic fix I think that we are going to be seeing this until they can identify the actual cause. Tightening connections and all the other stuff they were asking me to do is not going to resolve this. IMHO

What do the modem's signal stats look like ? Try getting them here http://192.168.100.1 or here http://10.0.0.1
Please post the *Downstream Power Level*, the *Upstream Power Level*, and the *SNR* (Signal to Noise Ratio) numbers.
What is the exact make and model number of the modem ?
Is this a WiFi connection ?

I called the issue into comcast as it was totally down so trying to get those numbers did not make an sense, besides I am not being paid to do their troubleshooting, seems that "they forget we are the paying customer". I find the overall support from comcast to be very poor. They did confirm that in my area the signals were very bad, then did their magic and so far the issue has not returned in my area. BTW I am comparing comcast products to FIOS product that I have had for 20 years and only 4 issues. I sure wish that comcast would even come close to that level of quality and service with 6 years of service. If I had another service in my area I would go to it at the drop of a hat. Sorry for the rant, but I just find comcast appalling for what I have to pay.
