Did this ever get resolved?  I've had the same issue for 3-4 months.  I'm on my 5th service call.  I rent Xfinity's modem.  No router connected to it.

Comcast came out. They found the cable from the street on the telephone pole had a loose connection and was worn out. They replaced it. They also replaced a connector coming into the house. So far our connection has been stable. We will see.
