Random speed drops & high latency - Gigabit

Hi All,

 

We have been seeing big drops in speed and high latency that happens randomly throughout the day. This has happened over the past 5 months and we have tried 2 different modems, 3 different routers and currently have the Xfi gateway. It happens to devices wired directly to the gateway and to wifi. 

 

I run a speed test to the Gateway and will see 950 Mbps. 1 minute later the test shows 250 Mbps. Another will show 650Mbps and then 2Mbps. I see packet loss when pinging sites and Xbox games are unplayable. Other times things seem to work fine. I have tested speeds using speedtest & DSLReports and they all show the same speed drops and latency issues.

 

A technician came out and replaced a bad connection outside, but that did not fix the issue. Here are the channel values--anything to note here? Thanks in advance!

 

  • Xfi gateway latest version (white)
  • Xfi is only coax device in the house & there are no additional splitters between feed and the Xfi
  • Computers/Xbox are hardwired & all exhibit the same behavior
  • Problem started about 5 months ago 
  • It seems to happen randomly
  • Coax is all RG6 installed in 2009
  • Connection feeds from outside house through conduit to a patch panel where it is coupled to coax that feeds the room the Xfi is in
