New modem - Unable to run speedtests, intermittent service drops

Hi all,

I recently replaced my Asus CM-16 16x4 modem with a Motorola MB8600 32x8 DOCSIS 3.1 model. I had to call Xfinity to have the modem activated, but after providing the MAC address and a couple of reset signals I was online. Unfortunately, ever since the changeover I'm unable to run any speed tests, they will either fail on the download test, or rise to ~400mbps (Service tier is 600), get stuck there, and then fail on the upload. I'm also experiencing intermittent drops in connectivity while streaming. My pfSense machine will show that I've lost the IP address on the WAN interface when this occurs.

With my previous hardware neither of these issues occured. Power level and SNR as reported by the modem are within spec on all channels, other than the millions of correctable errors on the OFDM channel, which is a known issue with this modem on Comcast.

With the current global situation exchanging the modem is going to take several hours, so is there any possibility that a network side error could be causing these issues before I arrange for a modem replacement?

Thank you
