Need a second IP address for my SB8200
So I contacted Xfinity a few weeks ago about my old modem and the customer service person I spoke with recommended I get the Arris SB8200. One of the reasons was because I have a large home with numerous dead spots and I wanted to set up a second router to make sure I cover all of the dead spots. Plus working from home I really need a home network and a work network for what I do. He explained that with the SB8200 I could get a second IP address for the second router since it has two WAN ports on back of it.
Fast forward and I have bought the SB8200 and the last customer service agent I spoke to didn’t seem to understand what I was asking. Can an Xfinity agent please assist me with getting this taken care of?
Thanks a ton!
Tom

Either way, the agent I spoke to a few weeks ago mentioned they could do it. Hoping to find someone now who can help me get this going so I can get my work network going. Need it ASAP.
Thanks.

First, check the "Rate Card" for your local area to see if that feature is even available anymore. Seems that it is being phased out;
https://www.xfinity.com/support/rate-card/
It's a PDF.
Scroll down to "Xfinity Internet" and look for "Additional IP Addresses".
If nothing is listed then it's likely to have been discontinued in your local market area.

They are phasing it out but I'm going to escalate your issue to the Comcast corporate employees that are available to these boards. We've seen cases here where they have been able to get this accomplished for customers even when it is not listed in their rate cards, YMMV. You should get a reply here in your topic. Good luck !

Hi, Tomrosh. The second IP address feature is something that is in the process of being phased out of all of our markets. There are some areas that offer it, some do not. I would be happy to check for you. Please also be aware that there is a monthly charge for it. Go ahead and send me a PM with your fist and last name and I will take a look.
