So I'm cutting off renting from Comcast and got the Motorola MT7711 modem. I got it all set up and am using it on my desktop and my phone I got it hooked up fine. Everything seems to be working. But when I go on the xfinity app it shows "modem offline"
What is going on here? I know not a huge deal if I have it working for what I need it for but if I wanted to do anything on the xfinity app such as view bill details it won't let me. It goes over to the xfinity assistant chat.
I have tried logging out and logging back in. No luck.

The app only works with their rented devices, not customer-owned ones.
