More than one cable modem connected to home network

Is it possible to have more than one cable modem/wifi router connected to my home network? My connection is a 600Mbps download but over wifi I get roughly 60 in my office. The wifi router can handle upto 1Gbps. I am not really wanting to move the cable modem/wifi router.
