Modem loses internet connection every 6 hours....like clockwork.

Starting a week ago, the router would lose internet connection what seemed randomly several times a day. I would reset the modem, and the internet connection would return.  If  wait long enough, the router usually recovers itself, so I don't really need to do the reset, it just recovers quicker if I do the reset myself.

 

It happened to me this morning so I decided to log in to look at the event logs. And I found that for the last week, every 6 hours, there is a log entry that looks like this:

 

[Dhcpc][1774]: erouter0 got new IP 69.251.83.49
2020/6/26 08:54:43 Notice

 

And I realized that those match the times that I have noticed internet loses connectivity. Before a week ago, this never occurred. I suppose that this is the event that occurs after the router 'fixes' itself.

 

My lease is set to renew weekly. and I made no changes to the router setup.  Any ideas?

What do the modem's signal stats look like ? Try getting them here http://192.168.100.1 or here http://10.0.0.1

Please post the *Downstream Power Level*, the *Upstream Power Level*, and the *SNR* (Signal to Noise Ratio) numbers.

What is the exact make and model number of the modem ?

Is this a WiFi connection ?

I have:

Model:TG1682G
Vendor:ARRIS Group, Inc.
 
but I cannot find the stats you are referring to. 
 
And  the internet signal is failing at the modem and if affects all my devices. Some are via wifi and some are hardwired ethernet.

O/k  if you can't find them you can call in to 1800comcast and ask a rep to check them. Good luck !
