MoCa network turning off cable

I have a new Arris TG1682g modem/gateway, and saw that there was an option for MoCa networking. I enabled it, hooked up an adaptor, and it worked perfectly. However, two of our cable boxes stopped working.  Why would they put an option in that doesn't work with cable television? Is there any way to use MoCa for TV and something else at the same time?

The option is there for people that don’t need a video moca connection. X1 boxes use moca to communicate and depending on your boxes, they use moca to directly communicate with the gateway. If that’s your case, moca for Internet isn’t for you

So there's no way to use the network if I have X1 boxes?
