Low upstream signal

Hi...

I wanted to move my modem (Arris SB6183) to another location in the house, but when I hooked it up the upstream light on the front was not lit...only the downstream displayed the "successful" blue light.

I hooked up an xfinity-supplied amplifier to it...one that I know works...and there was no change.  What do I need to do, to get full quality upstream and downstream signals to this wall jack?

Is it low or in spec? What are the actual numbers comparing the original outlet to the new one? It will help what to look for, and the model of amp,

Unfortunatly I don't have a tool that will tell me the numbers, so I guess I'm prematurely saying the levels are too low, as rarely have I seen them be too high...and the fact that the outlet is the on the complete opposite side of the house as the interface box.

The amp is comcast provided and it's a EXTREME Infinity premise model IPA1008D-RSVF

You don’t need a tool, it’s all accessible if you go into the modem settings (whichever modem you gave). You just need the numbers at the different spots to see what the differences are to give you an accurate idea of what to look for.
