About Two weeks ago I started having issues with my home internet. My biggest problem is that my daughter is doing distance learning and haveing trouble with meeting/ classes streaming all the time. Sometimes it just just laggs other times can not connect at all. When I am online Some pages will not load at all or I get an error that there is a connectivity problem or not connected to internet when I know I am connected. When trying to play a Facebook game the game will not load most of the time and if it does it is so slow you can not play . This problem can out of no where so I have no idea why it is nappening. It is a universal problem with 2 different desktop computers, A tablet or mobile phones so it is obvbiously not a processing issue just with my computer. Nothing has changed in the last two weeks same usage as we have always done. Schoool, emails, facebook and facebook games and streaming of youtube tv. If someone could please point me in the right direction to fix this problem as I am at a loss on why this started happening. Thank you very much!!!
Are these all WiFi connections ? If so, for a test, does a computer / device hardwired directly to the router / gateway device with an ethernet cable have the same problem ?
With this test, we are trying to isolate this from being either a WiFi-only problem or a problem with the general connection to the Comcast system which would of course affect both. It's a good first step of troubleshooting before we proceed any further.
Both Desktops are connected with cable to modem/router. For School she uses a laptop that the school gave her so it is connected via wifi. This problem is happening with desktop computers, laptop and phones. The Desktops which are connected seem to have the worst of it though which seems strange since they are hard wired. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give.
What do the modem's signal stats look like ? Try getting them here http://192.168.100.1 or here http://10.0.0.1
Please post the *Downstream Power Level*, the *Upstream Power Level*, and the *SNR* (Signal to Noise Ratio) numbers.
What is the exact make and model number of the modem ?
