Latency and Internet Speed Issues that are Affecting Streaming & Gaming
I've been running into unsolvable issues that are affecting latency and internet speed for the last few weeks. It’s gotten worse after the 2-3 repairs that have taken place in my area. This is very problematic as my son is a partnered Twitch streamer and a competitive gamer who relies on a low latency and high upload speed in order to maintain a high level of consistency. The latency use to be around 20-30 ms and is now in the 45-50 ms range with huge spikes. The upload speed on the other hand has been dropping to really low levels and makes it virtually impossible to stream at a high quality even though we currently should be getting around 35 Mbps, well above the 8 Mbps it takes to stream on Twitch.
I eliminated the possibility of it being a router issue as I directly plugged my Cat7 ethernet cable directly into my modem and got the identical results. Now I’ve obviously reset my modem a thousand times and nothing has changed. What I can show you are my modems high number of uncorrectable errors on the Downstream Channels from last week and also the currently out of spec lower power level on the Upstream Channels. I’ve reset my modem many times so these images are not from the same time and have no account for how many errors my modem has recorded overall. Here they are: https://imgur.com/a/TOKszFo
Would it be possible to check on the modems power levels and to make sure they’re closer to the right range? It’s an Arris SB8200. The minimum power level the website recommends is over 45 dBmV. Lastly, could the local Node be checked out also to eliminate that possibility?
Thanks,
Kevin

What is your loaded latency?
I have also been experiencing issues with service. Comcast cannot provide any solutions other than copy pasting their help articles.
