Every year, often in summer, my internet connectivity turns to carp. Sometimes not available for hours. Resetting the modem does not help fix the problem. I am actually sometimes running my smart tv from my dang phone. It is clear to me that there are infrastruture issues. This is why I finally left dsl service. My son is a cable tech in another part of the country. He thinks that repair activity for one address can inadvertantly create problems for nearby addresses. I'm paying way more than the service is worth and I'm tired of talking to service reps who tell me there are no known problems in my area. Often the next day, it is working again via xfinity. The on-line maps do not show problems. Often the android app for xfinity "system restart" does appear to fix the problem within an hour or so. Is anyone aware of some avenue that gets results when talking to xfinity about problems? I have seriously thought of bagging xfinity altogether and running off my phone hotspot.
