Internet for a mancave

We converted a garage into a mancave. We have tried accessing the internet from in the house but the siginal strength is barely none... So I installed a Xfi pod in there to get better access.... Still the siginal strength hasn't changed. Please this is for my dad and i am trying to access to his tv.
