Internet access problem
At about 9:30 AM CST, my internet started acting up, and I lost internet connectivity. I noticed on my Arris modem that the Internet light was off, so I rebooted, and also rebooted my connected Netgear R8000 router. The internet came back, but I was only able to access certain sites. My work related sites were not accessible. I checked for outages, none were reported in my area (Coal City IL). I was able to access an xfinitywifi hot spot and everything seemed to work normally from there.
At this point I reset everything again. Nothing changed. I attempted a factory reset of the modem. Still no internet access. The modem had been in in bridge mode prior to the reset, but after the factory reset I could now access the wifi on the modem, and it shows no internet access when connected to my PC. Also no longer seeing an hotspot as an option, currently using a phone as a hotspot for access. The Online light is on the modem, and my router indicates that the internet access is there. I tried calling the Comcast line, and could not get through to even go on hold for a person. Not sure where to go from here - any ideas?

Finally was able to get through via phone call, and the rep was able to work some magic with the modem and get me back online. Problem solved.

Your problem sounds similar to mine in West Suburban Chicago. Did the Comcast rep happen to share any of the magical incatations they used?
