Internet / Cable Jack

I'm about to dump my current internet provider. After I cancel services, I plan on hooking up my Xfinity internet modem (no TV). My question pertains to the cable line (jack) that the modem connects to. I'm assuming that line (that comes into the wall from outside) belongs to my current provider and once I cancel services, they will shut that line down. Will Xfinity need to come out and re-activate that same line or how does that work???

Your current provider will likely just turn off service remotely, most companies do that now. If you’re self installing its up to you to go outside and make sure to disconnect the old provider and hook up the Comcast line if it’s present. If it’s not there, tech will have to come out
