Intermittent No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out
Hello,
This is my first time posting here, but I have noticed reports as the same issue as mine.
As of Sunday, 10/25/2020, I have been experiencing issues with my Upload stream. I currently use my own equipment, and have used my own equipment since service was started at my location. The equipment I have is:
- Netgear CM700 Modem
- Netgear R7000 Router
When I first noticed the problem on Sunday, 10/25/2020, I ran a speed test and was only able to upload at ~1-2 Mbps, when I have/had the Blast package, which is rated for up to 10 Mbps. You can see a link below of a speed test ran back on 06/18/2020, at 8:00 PM ET (which I would consider peak usage hours), where I reached speeds of 12 Mbps on upload:

Also, every device has no issues remaining connected to Wi-Fi, nor to the Internet, but they are all experiencing the upload performance degradation.
Once I discovered this, I called customer support, where they rebooted my modem. That did not resolve the issue. I was then told I had to contact Netgear. Long story short, I was able to get a Comcast technician out on Tuesday, 10/27/2020. Before the technician arrived I did the following:
- Swapped Netgear R7000 with spare Netgear R7000. Same performance results of severely degraded upload speeds
- Hardwired PC in CM700 instead of R7000. Same performance results of severely degraded upload speeds
- Connected Netgear CM7000 to a different cable outlet in the house. Same performance results of severely degraded upload speeds
When the technician arrived, he checked all my lines and connections, as well as replaced the connectors on my coaxial cable leading from the modem to the outlet, and believed that there was an issue. However, he could not determine an actual issue in my apartment, or with my equipment, and was going to place a maintenance ticket for investigation outside my apartment. Also, to note, while the technician was here, I had him deactivate my Netgear CM700 and activate a spare Arris SB6183, to rule out the Netgear CM700 having issues. The Arris SB6183 experienced the same upload performance degradation.
As of 10/29/2020, I am running the Netgear CM700 and upgraded my package from Blast to Extreme Pro, as I was wanting to upgrade before this issue occurred, and thought that if there was some kind of bootfile problem, that may resolve it. However, as of today, you can see from the speed test link below that I am only averaging ~4-5 Mbps upload since upgrading to a ~20 Mbps upload package:

I have also ensured that any and all uncessary splitters, that I can access, have been removed. This still did not improve my upload performace.
Reading around in the forums, I have seen other people reporting the same issue as I am and the common item seems to be these "No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out". Below I have added all the statistics and logs from my Netgear CM700. Also, on a last note, as I do not know if it matters, but my Netgear CM700 Current System Time is an hour behind the actual current time. Let me know if other information is needed.
